With vines surrounded by the likes of Rauzan-Segla, and Palmer there is a reason Château Desmirail is a favorite among Margaux enthusiasts due to its incredible value.
BONUS: here we go again, bringing you top Bordeaux from insanely rock start vintages. This time it’s the 2015 Château Desmirail Margaux, a 'juicy and elegant' 94 point (so says Falstaff) first wine from what Vinous declared an outstanding 95 point vintage.
Owned by the Lurton family—considered Bordeaux royalty—this family owns over 20 estates, including 6 classified growths like Brane-Cantenac and Haut-Bages Libéral. Whenever we can get our hands on any of the fantastic Bordeaux from the Lurton estates, we jump on it, knowing the quality will always be outstanding. This particular wine is evidence of that. Grown in the deep gravel terroir from the Quaternary period and overseen by rockstar winemaker Eric Boissenot, the wine is all ripe fruits and silky tannins with a hint of tobacco.
