About the Wine
Nestled in the heart of the Stags Leap District, Silverado Vineyards has been crafting luxury wines for over four decades. With Bill and Carol Foley at the helm and Courtney Foley leading the way, this vineyard is a pioneer in Napa Valley.
Silverado Vineyard was among the first to plant Cabernet in the 1960s in the Stags Leap District. With over 300 acres spread across prestigious AVAs, including Yountville, Coombsville, and Napa Valley, it's a name synonymous with quality.
In 1981, Ron and Diane Miller, along with Lillian Disney, established Silverado Vineyards to create wines that spoke of their love for Napa Valley. They decided to craft their expressions of this beloved region, and the result is truly exceptional.
Silverado Vineyards has a tradition of honoring outstanding vintages with "The Limited" designation. In 1987, all their entries won gold at the International Wine and Spirit Competition, and Jack Stuart was named Winemaker of the Year.
Silverado Vineyards not only produces great wines but also cares for the land. They've worked with Fish Friendly Farming to restore creek beds and Napa river banks to their native California flora, showcasing their dedication to sustainable practices.
In 1999, the University of Davis California, granted Silverado Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage status FPS #30, a rare distinction and the only one from the Stags Leap District.
Under the Foley Family's guidance, Silverado Vineyards carries on the Miller Family's legacy. With over 40 ratings of 90+, their wines continue to impress critics and wine enthusiasts alike.
Alison Rodriguez, the third winemaker in Silverado's history, brings a world of experience. Her journey through wine regions worldwide led her to Silverado Vineyards, where she oversees all winemaking activities for this luxury winery and its four estate vineyards.
Aging: 9 months in 100% French Oak, 5% new oak
Tasting Notes : 100% Chardonnay. Aromas of light tropical fruit and yellow apple with floral highlights. Medium-bodied with fresh, juicy fruit flavors of tropical citrus, pear and perfectly ripe apple. Nicely rounded edges give a light toasty softness to the moderately long, mineral-driven finish.
